Hoosier First is an independent, nonpartisan Indiana news project. We report on how Indiana is governed: statewide, and in every congressional district, state legislative district and county.

What we publish

• News: reported, sourced accounts of what happened.
• Investigations: in-depth, document-based accountability reporting. Every investigation lists its sources and documents.
• Opinion: clearly labeled commentary, kept separate from news and investigations.

Each district and county has its own page, with its representatives, the candidates on the 2026 ballot, upcoming public meetings where we have them, and news tagged to that place.
